HOW TO MAKE A PROPER OLD FASHIONED
1 sugar cube
1 orange rind or (my husband’s favorite) grapefruit
3 dashes Angostura bitters
2 ounces bourbon (Small Batch 1792—incredible value) or rye
1 Luxardo Marasca cherry

Place sugar, orange or grapefruit and bitters in an old-fashioned glass. Gently muddle until sugar resembles a fine paste. Add the bourbon or rye, along with a large ice cube (we like these cubes), and stir well. DO NOT top with club soda. Garnish with Luxardo cherry.
